The Therapist’s Bookshelf

Hello Fellow Mental Health Professional Readers!

Curiosity and learning are values that bring me to start this new book club. This is a group for mental health professionals where we read and discuss popular books related to our field that are commonly recommended to clients (i.e. No Bad Parts, Attached, The Body Keeps the Score, etc.).

Is there a book you’ve been wanting to read so you can confidently recommend it to clients? This is for you!

Do you love reading and want to expand to books for self-exploration? This group is for you!

FAQ’s about Groups

  • An open group means that it is an ongoing group with new people coming and going on a regular basis. There is typically no set amount of sessions.

A closed group has a fixed number of members where everyone joins at the same time. It also has a set duration with specified amount of sessions.

  • This can change based on the group, especially depending on if it is closed or open. Most groups have between 3-10 members. If it is an open group member attendance varies.

  • Groups are an affordable counseling option that can build community, offer different perspectives, learning from peers, and gain new coping skils.
